Having been a member of another gym for quite some time and feeling no connection, Optima came as a sea breeze on a hot day.  The staff are awesome and really care about you and there's never in my time here been a fight or a queue for equipment.  I'd recommend it if you want to be treated like a person, not an account and where you can really enjoy getting fit.

Hi my name is Chanel.  I am a 13 year old gymnast who trains with Josh.  I look forward to my weekly sessions with Josh because it's fun, fantastic and I learn something all the time. 
 
Personal training with Josh is so great that I would gladly recommend him to anyone who wants to look great, feel good and gain some confidence because this is exactly what I have gotten in training with Josh.  I feel as I have progressed, Josh has helped me to have control over my body more and also has taught me to have muscle technique.  Even my Mum has said she has seen big improvements in my strength and conditioning - WOOHOO!!

Wendy Townsend

 

I started at Optima Fitness in February this year after a 2 year break from any training.

I met Wendy at my first visit to the gym, and we discussed what I wanted as goals and how I was to achieve them.  Wendy and I do a one hour training session each week where she encourages me to go beyond what I think I am capable of.  Wendy is extremely positive in her approach to my fitness.  In May this year she convinced me that I could run in the 10km event in the Gold Coast Marathon, which is something I never thought I could do.  In July I ran in the event and completed it under the cut off time.  With out Wendy's full support I would never have achieved this goal we had set.  I look forward each week to our training sessions.  I think Wendy is an extremely positive person and a great personal trainer and would recommend her to anybody who is looking to reach their goals.  Otpima Fitness has great staff all round but my personal favourite is Wendy.

Although I have been a member of the gym for a few years I had not tried personal training until a few weeks ago when I started training with Lloyd.  It didn't take very long at all to see results.  In the last few weeks I have lost some weight, my fitness has improved, I feel great and I really enjoy the variety in the sessions every week.  Even though personal training is hard work, Lloyd also makes it enjoyable and the hour of exercise seems to fly by.  Lloyd is friendly and has a great sense of humour while being very professional in his approach.  I have no hesitation in recommending Lloyd to anyone who is considering personal training.

Steady Steps....
After I finished the easy steps programme I was happty to try the steady steps next.  I need to get my balance better and I find the exercises a big help.  It is also a help to exercise with other people.  Steady Steps is a happy class and I look forward to it each week and I hope it will help me to avoid falls.

During the past few weeks I have commenced Personal Training with Lloyd at the Otpima Gym, Clayfield.

 

These sessions involve boxing, cardio and weight resistance training.  Lloyds caring, positive and friendly personality make PT very enjoyable and exhausting.  As a result, my general health and wellbeing has improved greatly and I now feel fitter and stronger. 

 

I would happily recommend Lloyd to anyone considering a personal trainer.

I first met Heather Kemp in March this year. I was immediately drawn to her as she was so compassionate and understanding. I had not been at the gym for 3 years due to sickness and injury. I have osteoporosis, osteo-arthritis and fibromyalgia, so I am constantly tired, stiff and sore, and in a lot of pain.

 

I was unsure and wary of coming back to the gym, but my girlfriend, Janine Blain referred me to Heather as a personal trainer.

 

Since meeting and working with Heather both on the gym floor and in the “Stepping Out” Class I have come to know a very kind, sympathetic, supportive and truly lovely lady.

 

She has got the most incredibly positive outlook with a wonderful “can do” attitude. Her care with elderly people is truly amazing and nothing is too much trouble. She is a gem. Her theory is to take small steps until you get your confidence back and then you take the big steps, which has worked wonders with me.

 

I am slowly getting back to where I was 3 years ago with my programme. I love coming to the gym and working out. I love the “stepping out” class and the friends I have made there. I really enjoy the challenges that Heather gives us.

 

I am feeling so much better in myself, thinking more clearly, sleeping better, eating better and enjoying my life more.

 

I have more range of movement in my body and I am achieving lots of household tasks that I couldn't do before, and through would never do again.

 

Heather has certainly got me through the bad time, and given me back a better quality of life. She is like a breath of fresh air and added sunshine to my life.

 

Heather, thank you for all you have done for me. Your encouragement, friendship and belief in me has given me my life back. You have been a bright light at the end of a dark tunnel.
